The TON Foundation has announced the shutdown of its Toncoin Bridge service, effective May 10, 2025. The bridge, which currently enables asset transfers between the TON network and Ethereum or BNB Smart Chain, will stop processing new transactions but will continue to honor pending claims indefinitely.
Originally crucial for liquidity prior to Toncoin’s exchange listings, the bridge facilitated cross-chain swaps through platforms like Uniswap and PancakeSwap. Its phased retirement highlights TON’s growing ecosystem strength, as native DeFi infrastructure now diminishes reliance on external blockchains.
